Our client hosts an annual worldwide partner
conference with in excess of 10,000 attendees . The
industry partner groups within our client’s
organization identified an opportunity to leverage
the partner conference to host a pre-day event
specifically focused on industry partners. The
industry team approached The Grasp Group to work
with them to plan and deliver their first ever
pre-day event . Their selection of The Grasp Group
as the consulting firm of choice for this inaugural
event was based on our track record working on other
large scale global events inside the company.
With less than 5 months to the day of the event, The
Grasp Group started by meeting with the pre-day
event sponsors across three separate industry groups
to facilitate the design for the one day forum.
Given that this was the first event of its kind for
our client there was significant time spent with the
three industry groups involved defining the
objectives for the forum. Once groups were aligned
behind the overall objective of the forum TGG worked
the teams through the development of the event
budget and the general design of the forum. We
believe, as do many of our peers, that adult
learning is best achieved through doing and while we
knew there was a thirst for industry information
from the targeted attendee audience we also knew
that the design of the forum had to incorporate a
variety of activities that would facilitate not only
the exchange of information but also one on one
dialogue and significant networking.
The end result of our efforts was a one day,
cross-industry partner forum that incorporated a
cross-industry keynote address (a first for our
client), numerous industry specific track sessions
and a relevant current topics networking event to
close our the day.
