Our client had just announced the acquisition of a
Dallas based mail services business, their largest
acquisition of the year. Upon making the
announcement the Southern Region VP of Human
Resources, based on his previous experience working
with one of TGG’s founding partners on M&A
transactions, contacted The Grasp Group to program
manage the organizational integration of the
business.
TGG immediately went to work developing an overall
project plan to integrate the newly acquired
organization. In addition to managing the overall
organization integration, TGG provided consulting
services to the deal leadership team on all aspects
of the new organization leadership and
organizational structure. This involved one on one
meetings with both the acquiring and acquired
organization leadership teams to understand the
longer term strategy of the new business and the
resulting leadership competencies required to
realize the strategy. Numerous transitional programs
including a Key Resources Identification Program, a
Transitional Key Resource Retention Program, a Job
Posting and Selection Program for the direct labor
pool and an overall Integration Communication
Strategy and Program were the result of these
discussions. The Grasp Group customized these
programs and strategies in response to the specific
needs identified through consultation with the mail
services business.
The end result was the successful integration of the
mail services business into our clients existing
organization. The successful and purposeful
identification of acquired resources to retain and
place strategically in the new organization directly
contributed to the smooth transition of customers’
work into the acquiring organization. Our client’s
Senior Vice President, Manufacturing, Business
Integration & Chief Information Officer described
TGG’s involvement as “a welcome and valuable
addition to the team…added a great deal of value to
the process."
